Meet your city and neighbours - the free walk will explore one of Mumbai's oldest areas, Girangaon, Village of Mills.
With:
In its heyday, Girangaon was a major source for Mumbai's economic and subsequently social and cultural ethos. The mill lands have now been sold to private companies with the result that thousands of people have lost their jobs. The Giranagon Walk will take people through the still existing chawls and local markets that continue to house and cater to mill workers and their families. Generations have seen Bharat Mata Theatre, Chivda Gulli, Mirchi Gulli, Shravan Yashwante Chawk, Bhoot Bangala and Ghodapdeo Temple evolve and serve the local communities.
