“The most important thing we learn at school is the fact that the most important things can't be learned at school.”

I work for Mediamatic since August 2006. I produce and curate all our new media, technology and art-related workshops, and in the recent past also Dev (Hacker) Camps. I also organise workshops that are connected to our exhibition program and sometimes a salon.

Recent workshops themes: Creative use of RFID, Arduino, soldering robots and SMT, various programming languages, physical computing and innovative and creative combinations between these topics.

In 2006, 2007 and 2008 I co-produced MEDIA funded workshops on film-and documentary making with the open source tool Korsakow for IDFA, Cinekid, B3 Media in London and other national-and international institutes.

I need (and can't life without) music, books, New York, cult- and arthouse cinema, Berlin, Paris, Palais de Tokyo, (contemporary) art, photography, nature, forests, the sea, sleeping, hanging around (preferably with moscow mule's and nice people), Edamame's, animals (I don't eat them) and clean air (if this still exists).

I love artists, musicians and film makers, (not necessarily in this order): Steven Parrino, Gardar Eide Einarsson, Cory Arcangel, Banks Violette, Mark Rothko, Richard Serra, Tracey Emin, Morton Feldman, Hiroshi Teshigahara, John Adams, Haruki Murakami, Kenzaburo Oe, Kaneto Shindo, Paul Auster, Yoko Ogawa, Iannis Xenakis, Banana Yoshimoto, Andrei Tarkovsky, Kobo Abe, Yoshitomo Nara, Ryu Murakami, Bela Tarr, Merzbow, Sun Ra, Chris Marker, Allen Ginsberg, Guy Bourdin, David Lynch and many more. Old(er) ones, dead ones, but also new ones.

I'd do it if I were me
