Opening Bardot Proviant Klub
Zaterdag 16 januari bij Mediamatic, vanaf 20:00 uur
Nieuwe tentoonstelling met beelden, video en en ervaringen van de veranderende Groenlandse natuur en cultuur, gemaakt door fotograaf Anya van Lit en auteur Joost Bottema. DUS architecten ontwierp de ijzige eetkamer waar vrienden samen Zeehond kunnen eten.

HansTijdens de opening vond de performance ‘Wizards Giants and Elves’ plaats van kunstenaar Abner Preis, gingen Seamus Cater & Viljam Nybacka liederen zingen uit Groenland en omgeving, kon je eskimo-slippers maken, was de Bardot Cinematheek geopend en waren er Groenlandse delicatessen voor vrienden en vegetarische Quorn in Groenlandse stijl van Willem. Muziek van DJ Katja 'Inuit Polar Bear' Novi: Brigitte Bardot en Groenlandse klanken.

Seal meat is delicious
We ate seal meat in Tasiillaq, Greenland, last summer. A friend bought it from local hunters and prepared it for us. It's delicious, somewhat like stewed beef in taste.

Seal?
Unfortunately the seal had been eaten... I was loooking forward to some :(
Slightly misleading information in the Greenlandic news
Aluu Pipaluk (sumiuungavit?). I was there too, but was told the seal was only for invited people... A little misleading based on what was written in the Greenlandic newspapers.
Overall, I found it an interesting exhibition, and funny to see my old schoolmate being interviewed. A technical note though, I found that the music played was just a notch too high, to actually being able to hear the rather interesting movie-clips.
