Halil Turaçtemur

… born on the 26th of June 1984 in The Netherlands. After high school he lived in the United States for a year before studying Interactive Media in Amsterdam.

After his second year he went to the Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam to study Graphic Design while majoring in Identity Design as well as Photography.

In his third year he went on exchange in Tokyo where he focussed on Photography. Back to studying in Rotterdam he interned at Lava grafisch ontwerpers in Amsterdam. For his second internship he decided to explore the world of advertising for which he went to Rafineri in Istanbul.

Halil graduated in June 2010. His graduation work was nominated for the 'Drempelprijs' (award by the city of Rotterdam for the most promising graduates) and was also selected for the 'Best of 2010' exhibition at gallery BLAAK10 in Rotterdam.

His works have been exhibited at the North Sea Jazz Festival and Gergiev Festival. Some clients he has worked for include MTV Turkey, broadcasting association VARA, KREK theatre group, T-box, and deBalie (theatre and centre for politics, culture and media).

Currently he's working at Mediamatic as a Junior Graphic Designer.
