Opening Arcade Level 4: Handhelds

We danced, we played, we drank.

Level 4 introduces you to over 200 handhelds, and to a group of musicians who turned their Game Boys into musical instruments. Drink, play and dance with us. Doors open at 8pm. Please RSVP.

Handhelds

More than 200 handhelds are on show! Marvel at among others the Atari Lynx, Sega Game Gear, five generations of Game Boys, Bandai WonderSwan, and the Neo Geo Pocket. There was a Game Boy demo stand and you could even buy charms in the shape of your favorite handheld. You'd rather just play? Young and old went crazy on the vintage and modern arcade machines, consoles, interactive installations and the newly developed Smoke Pong and Room Racers. The eclectic Gameboymusicclub from Berlin provided some chirpy 8-bit tunes, and DJ Emile Zile played a few records.

Do you have the very first hand held console?

No, I'm not talking about the Game Boy. The first mobile game console was the Microvision from 1979. It even came with a rotary input for racing or tennis games.
