Ome Ad and the Lost Herbs
Although it seemed difficult to top the success of our first Over Datum Eetclub dinner last week, this week's delicious three course dinner and music filled night left everyone hungry for more! Ome Ad was our chef for the evening, and he created some spicy concoctions! The smells coming out of the Mediamatic bank even had strangers wandering in off the street asking to join our dinner party!

OmeAfter having recently cooked up a storm at pop palace Paradiso, Ome Ad joined us in a more intimate setting for the second surprise dinner. On this sold out evening, Ome Ad was put in charge of coordinating the cooking and chopping efforts of all our guests. Set to the beats of music that Ome picked specifically for the night, he gave an exotic twist to the menu and created an atmosphere that could only be called gezellig.
Ome Ad’s grocery list included dried herbs, vegetables, chicken and prawns, couscous, tomato sauce, coconut milk, yoghurt, fruits, and sweets of all sorts. With such a diverse grocery list we wondered whether our guests would come through, and they delivered! We had people come in with bags of spices that had been sitting around in their cupboards for years! The piece de resistance was a 30 year old jar of sambal oelek that had been waiting patiently in a cellar for this very day! Runner up was bottles of mineral water from Georgia that had expired in 1994....although many people resisted sipping on this ancient liquid, some dared to give it a try and they lived through it, saying that it tasted very metallic but was still drinkable!
With all the herbs and spices that we had collected, the smells wafting out of the Mediamatic Bank were so enticing that we even had people wander in off the street asking how they could join the dinner party!
The menu for the evening included:
Tagine with chicken and couscous
Couscous with roasted vegetables
Red Curry with cashew nuts and basil
Banana Curry
and a fruit salad with a yogurt and raisin sauce for dessert!

Over Datum Eetclub takes place at Mediamatic BANK, Vijzelstraat 68. Doors open at 17:30 and we’ll start cooking at 18:00. Read more about making reservations here. Join us for the third edition!
Over Datum Eetclub serves as an act of rebellion against wasting food, and is a wake-up call for all those who anxiously cling to expiration dates. Join us, and regain faith in your own judgement and senses.
This evening was the second out of six Over Datum dinners. Over Datum Eetclub is part of the Pièce de Résistance exhibition.

Beste Caroline,
zoals hierboven aangegeven kun je het best even fan worden van de pagina zodat je als eerst te horen krijgt vanaf wanneer je je aan kan melden. Dat kan vervolgens op deze pagina door middel van een roze Reserveer knop. Niet door een bericht achter te laten dus. Die 5 mensen waarmee je samen wilt komen zullen zich ook even op die manier aan moeten melden.

Dat is niet nodig, behalve als de kok dat expliciet als eis stelt :) Maar ik neem aan dat je doelt op het aanmeldproces? Dit is om te voorkomen dat mensen zich aanmelden en vervolgens niet op komen dagen. We gunnen zoveel mogelijk mensen een plekje, en kort van tevoren reserveren voorkomt last-minute afzeggingen.

Individueel reserveren
Beste Marja en Marijke,
De reservering is op dit moment nog gesloten maar zal voor de tweede Over Datum Eetclub binnenkort open gaan. Wanneer dit gebeurd zullen eerst fans van deze pagina op de hoogte worden gesteld. Wordt dus fan van deze specifieke pagina, of een andere Over Datum Eetclub editie die jij wilt bezoeken, om er op tijd bij te zijn.
Reserveren zal iedereen individueel moeten doen vanuit zijn of haar mediamatic profiel. Je kunt dus niet via jouw profiel voor drie personen reserveren, alleen voor jezelf. Als je mediamatic profiel is gekoppeld aan je Facebook account en je fan wordt van dit event verschijnt deze op je profiel. Zo kun je je vrienden op de hoogte brengen ook fan te worden en zo op tijd te reserveren.
