A popular guide to the identification and study of our commoner fungi, with special emphasis on the edible varieties.

The material within is taken from monographs written by men who make the different divisions of fungi their specialty. Written in layman terms with a plethora of plates, line drawings and cuts to aid in identifying the various types of fungi. A wonderful guide for anyone wishing to become interested in harvesting wild mushrooms or simply to identify which are edible. There are also a number of delicious mushroom recipes for when the foraging is finished.
