Medicinal mushrooms

Using mushrooms to treat diseases is a tradition that goes way back. The possibilities seem endless, and researchers are constantly contributing more and more healing qualities to fungi. From fighting viruses and destructive diseases like alzheimers and dementia, to treating cancer and calming inflammation.

Speakers

Frank van de Goot, Won-Sik Kong, and Johan Baars have all three been doing research into mushrooms that could either save our lives or kill us. Johan Baars will focus on the Western approach to medicinal mushrooms, while Won-Sik Kong will explore the Korean approach and use of medicinal mushrooms but also sheds some light on the century old Asian usage. Frank van de Goot will talk about the destructive properties of poisonous mushrooms and the effect they have on our bodies.
