Edit your Table of Content
First of all, make sure that you use the editor in the left top of your document to assign your different headers and body texts. Do not use the inspector to assign headers, since this somehow does not work.
Insert your Table of Contents: Main Menu > Insert > Table of Contents. You can choose how many levels you want to show by selecting the boxes in your inspector: Document Tab > TOC. Selecting the #'s box means you want to show the page numbers.
Now turn Show Invisibles on: Main menu > View > Show Invisibles. You will see some blue arrows. Select the TOC by clicking on it. Now you can align the number by pulling the small blue triangle on the ruler.
TOC in pages
If you want to insert some lines in your Table of Contents, open the Inspector > T tab > Tabs > click on the Leader button> choose leaders.

Et voila, a nice Table of Contents, all to your likings!
Insert layout breaks
In a pages document, you can use a layout break to end one layout and create a new layout after the break. This is especially useful if you want to insert different column attributes and/or set new layout margins. Layout breaks do not affect the headers, footers, page numbering or other formatting options that are set for the document or section.
Insert a layout break in a pages document
- Place the insertion point after the word where you want to end your current layout and set a new layout.
- Choose Insert > Layout Break. A layout break is inserted and the insertion point is moved to the top of the next layout.
- The layout will still stay the same, until you change the layout settings. You can change the layout out settings by clicking the Inspector in the toolbar, then clicking the Layout Inspector button.
- You can move the new layout to the beginning of a page by selecting the Layout starts on new page checkbox.
If the invisible characters are displayed (do this by clicking View in the toolbar, then Show Invisibles), the end of a layout will be shown by a blue line.
You can remove a layout break by simply removing the blue line.
Insert columns
If you want to modify the number or appearance of columns at a certain point in your document, first create a new layout.
Dividing a document into multiple columns
Click the Inspector button in the toolbar, select Layout Inspector, select Layout. Indicate the number of columns in the Columns box. Uncheck the Equal column width checkbox if you want to have different column widths.
