It was Halbe Zijlstra the Dutch State Secretary of Education, Culture and Science who said in Pauw & Witteman a talk show on public television;
"For a stable future for culture we have to arrange that culture is getting its recourses from a broader source: private funding by individuals or companies and so on."
For the exhibition: IN SEARCH OF NEW ALLIANCES, Stolk contacted with support of THE .ORG more than 60 companies in the nearby surrounding of the art institute P.ART of your life with the polite but urgent request to support the group show. Searching ways for both parties to get benefit out of this event. None of these companies responded to the request.
On the other hand Stolk contacted all art related institutes which he could find in the Zwolle area, with the kind but urgent request to help with an education program alongside the exhibition and support to reach a broader audience. Most of the institutes didn’t respond. Only one published a few lines about the show in a digital newsletter.
Stolks aim with IN SEARCH OF NEW ALLIANCES ™ is not to point a moralistic finger in the direction of today’s structures but to prepare new future strategies.

Edwin Stolk founder of THE .ORG and known from the art blog Strange Messenger will start with a short introduction on the exhibition IN SEARCH OF NEW ALLIANCES.
After that he will show and discuss a lot of inspiring art from the web. The selections of works shown are all connected with the theme; what is the role, place and function of art in contemporary society?
