We've filled up our picnic baskets, packed our most colorful towel and went to a summer party on Sunday March 4. In addition to the exhibition Radiant Beach, we had a blast in the warmth of the radiant hot spot in Mediamatic FABRIEK.

Program

Tropical cocktails (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic caipirinhas), badminton and frisbees - we threw a true beach party! DJ Cosmo Knex (Hallo Gallo resident DJ) gave his vinyl a spin for some tropical tunes - from traditional Surinamese and African to contemporary electronic sounds.

Radiant Beach

Radiant picnic is part of the exhibition Radiant Beach by Martti Kalliala. An artificially hot beach is created from the afterglow of nuclear waste in the Van Gendthallen for ten days of winter. Click here to read more about Radiant Beach.

Radiant Picnic was held on March 4 from 15.00 - 18.00. The Van Gendthallen are situated on the Oostenburgereiland. North of the zoo (Artis) and south of the KNSM-eiland. Visit this page for directions.
