typical arabic pointed slippers suited for the dutch climate

It's a rubber boot with the pointed nose of arabic slippers and arabic ornamental patterns printed on it.

: typical dutch product (kaplaars) everybody needs in Holland and that can be made at low cost. It looks fresh and appeals to a broad public.

: Everybody with his/her head in the sky and his/her feet in the mud.

: I live in an area with a lot of arabic influences, the elhema competition made me think about ways to integrate the things I see around me, like the pointed slippers, in 'traditional' dutch products.

: research into arabic ornamentation, printing techniques and manufacturing possibilities.
