The Gallery of Modern Art will present Australia’s first major Andy Warhol retrospective, with an exhibition of over 300 works: paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, films, videos, installations, audio recordings and documentation of performances.

The Australian Cinémathèque will showcase the artist’s important film and video work with an in-depth program of Warhol's films restored by the Museum of Modern Art, New York as well as film and video about Warhol, his ‘Superstars’ and personalities connected with The Factory. Warhol’s preoccupation with celebrity, delinquency and sexuality will also be explored in a curated program tracing the politics and sensibilities of 1960s underground cinema and his influence on contemporary independent artists and filmmakers.
