Matching

anyMeta matches information on content and meta-data. Therefore newly added material will automatically be matched with relevant existing information.

The majority of websites have a hierarchical structure. This forces the user into a certain position. For visitors it is hard to find information deep in this hierarchy and editors constantly have to decide where they place new information and what kind of links they make. When you are working on a larger site with different editors this becomes unworkable.

Hierarchy and matches on meta-information: meta-links

anyMeta combines the clarity of a simple hierarchy with the power of associative connections. In anyMeta the information forms a cloud: all information is equal to the system; it is not structured top down. The matching engine of the system structures this cloud by connecting information based on content and meta-data.

The content is automatically scanned on relevant matching terms. The editors can add the meta- data. They choose the most important characteristics of the content such as: theme, catchword, target group, person, time, place and personal preference. The matching engine combines information that uses the same terms in either the content or in the meta-data. This creates links between texts with for example the same theme, texts by the same author and announcements of events in the same city.

These 'meta-links' allow you to access information on the site in different ways.
They also make powerful and elaborate searches possible. You can now search for a specific memorandum in a large government site. You can also get an overview of documents from only one department or one specific subject.

Example. A site consists of stories: anyMeta combines and presents stories from inhabitants from one city in different ways. The matching engine automatically matches stories from the grocer on the corner with stories from other shopkeepers in the same street, with grocers in general and with information on this specific grocer’s family. This makes navigating through the stories very intuitive and easy for users of this site.
