Federico Campanale (France, 1973) lives and works in Amsterdam (NL). He works mainly with video, film and photography.
Artistically, he focuses on the audiovisual rendering of natural phenomenon’s and human sensations. His work varies from abstract images based on dynamics, rhythm, force and power to some more concrete representations in which notions like identity, intimacy and mystery find their place. In parallel, his artistic research is also influenced by his former education (human geography) and therefore leaves an important place to the concepts of environment, surrounding and territory.
His work mingles filmic and non-filmic approaches, allowing combinations of storytelling and more abstract imagery.
