Mediamatic 1983

In the summer of 1983 Willem Velthoven, Jan Wijle, Frits Maats, Barbara Pyle, Marieken Verheyen and Willem Mulder establish Mediamatic to support artists in the use of new technologies and to promote their work. The first event was held in Grand Theater in Groningen. Later on Mediamatic got work space in "The Faun" at the Zuiderdiep in Groningen. There they organized video presentation evenings on a regular basis.
