Influenced by different styles and by the media, Ann Van den Broek creates a blend of emotions and analysis that is highly personal. Raw, analytical, expressive, formal, filmic, temperamental, detailed, real: a product of the times. Or as Isabella Steenbergen wrote in the November 2003 of TheaterMaker magazine: “Here we see a new language: one of emotional minimalism.”
