LONG LIVE THE COLLECTIVE
It took almost a year. We attended lectures, had discussions, and gave assignments to students. It all revolved around the discussions at Mediamatic concerning the question of identity: Me Me Me. Who am I, and how can technology help me to express myself? Finally the Sandberg design students found a way to answer this question. They declared: Death to the individual - long live the collective!

CHILDREN OF ROENA
The different perspectives on this topic were gathered and printed as a fanzine. The Collective - a publication on the dynamics of collectives in the context of social networks. Published by the Design Department of the Sandberg Instituut, Amsterdam 2008. Limited Edition.
The launch of the Sacred Magazine and a ceremony was be held on 24 October, at the Mediamatic BANK from 21:00 hrs until late. On this night, we said goodbye to our individuality and joined the cult.

THE NIGHT
The students' work was gathered in a limited edition 'fanzine' which was presented during the night. On the arrival of the guests, people were able to buy a white rock and later at night they had the choice to either keep it or trade it in for the fanzine. Visitors were also given a white ribbon, just to make sure they were as much as part of the collective as everyone else.
The party began with a great and thrilling performance, and afterwards DJ Katja made sure everybody could keep on dancing.

The guests were also enthusiastically encouraged at random moments during the night to shout "We are the Children of Roena!", accentuating the collective.
