Tilman Baumgaertel is a journalist and writer. He studied art history
and wrote a book about Harun Farocki as his thesis.

He published a book with interviews in 1999 called net.art, and is working on its successor. Tilman Baumgaertel has written extensively about net art, and his work can be found in for example the catalogue of Net_Condition and the online archive of Telepolis. He now works for the Berliner Zeitung.
