Person

Jacques Servin

An American writer who lives in San Francisco.

He has published two collections of short stories: Mermaids for Attila (1991) and Aviary Slag (1996). Servin's stories stand out for the sheer inventiveness of their language, and have been described as startling, lively, hilarious, 'a lucid, lysergic antidote to the so-called profundities of 'quality fiction'. His writing has been compared to that of Donald Barthelme, and more that one critic has used words like originality and mind-blowing to describe it.

Since 1996 Servin, a trained programmer, has also been working on different WWW-projects, among which are 'Beast TM', part of a.o. the New York Digital Salon, and "Multifrisco."
