What roles do nature and nurture play in cognitive development? A symposium organized by the Cognitive Science Center Amsterdam, sparked by theories developed by Michael Tomasello.

Speakers: Franklin Chang (Max Planck Institute, Leipzig), Sonja Eisenbeiss (University of Essex), Brendan McGonigle (University of Edinburgh), Wil Roebroeks (Universiteit Leiden), Arie Verhagen (Universiteit Leiden). Chaired by Keith Stenning (University of Edinburgh).

Subjects: Cognitive development in human evolution, functionalistic aspects of language, child languages acquisition.
