Levien Nordeman (1982) is an independent writer and researcher in the field of new media and culture. His main interest is the interaction between (e-)culture, web 2.0, citizenship and society. He is member of the NetNiet.org foundation, which promotes media art in public space.

From 2000-2005 Levien studied at the Utrecht School of Arts from which he graduated with a Master's degree in Digital Media Design. Afterwards, he continued studying at Utrecht University from 2005 to 2008, graduating
cum laude with a Master's in New Media and Digital Culture. In the same year (2008) he received a grant from the Radboud Foundation to do a suplementary year of philosophy at the Radboud University in Nijmegen.

Thus far, Levien has worked for several organizations in the cultural sector, and has done research on new media, youth culture and feminism, as well as on social networks for cultural foundations. In addition, he writes for several magazines on new media and culture.

During his study Levien was a teaching assistant in courses on new media and Dutch culture and society at the University of Utrecht.
