iTea
Cosy tea-table column with "facts" about you.
There's nothing more interesting than here some juicy information about someone else. But did you know there are tons of "intelligence" on the internet about you. With the iTea installation you can imagine yourself at Aunty Betsy's to get some first class gossip...
About you that is. And it's all on the net, so it must be true, right?
You might be surprised on how much there is to know about yourself. This tea-cup will reveal som much, it's downright scary. Not just you but everyone at the tea-table will have a voyeuristic feeling when they see the "facts" of your own life spilled on that table so easilly. The
Things are going to be told on that table you're going to deny..But there must be some truth in it all, that's what a everybody will believe.
By dropping your Tag in an old porcelain tea cup, the system will search the all knowing internet for data that's found about you. There is a lot of information concerning you. The output for this information will be in the form of a flat projection underneath the cup. Sentences will appear as ripples and move out towards the edges of the center.
Every time a person drops his RFID tag into the cup, the system will immediately search the social network for information about this person.
Along with this information, the system will do a google search on the persons name tot retrieve even more "facts" on him/her. Together, these facts will show the (hopefully) untrue image that person has been given by the community on the net. Infact,it is even possible to use information that is put on social networks like Flickr, hyves and even hotmail. Be aware of the global opinion about you!
In this voyeur-friendly world we want to make people aware about how open one's life actually is.RFID tags are invading our life rapidly.. Information on everybody is there for the taking.
Getting a strong and diverse team together, promises a fruitful collaboration of several disciplines. making all the impossible virtually possible. And there is so much more this team want s to built. Ideas are endless.
