Mediamatic Lab

We are a web2.0agency. We develop social networks on internet. Keywords: design, interaction, graphic, web 2.0, culture, art.Usually our communities have a cultural aim. We build them with our own anyMeta, a technical framework to do great things.

Examples of our projects are: RHIZ, BiD-network, PICNIC 07 and the website of our sisterorganisation Mediamatic.net. Also have a look at our portfolio.

What are you going to do?

As an intern, you work in a team with other designers and programmers. Often the team will have a project manager as well. It is our aim to involve you from the beginning of one of our projects. That way you work alongside us and obtain job experience through all phases of a project, until a good result is attained.

Graduation and Job experience internships

In case of a graduation internship, we discuss direction and goals for the project together, and you carry responsibility for a large part of the final result. Some designers do an autonomous research and graduation project, but mostly we try to fit your ideas into a larger project which will be implemented, be it by us or a different institution.

What do we expect?

- Responsibility and independence in word and action is very important for all interns.
- web design experience
- interest in typography
- a portfolio that shows your talent and practical experience with interactive media.
- Interest in social software and communicative connections between different media, and not necessarily only the technological advancements in the field

Internships

Typically, any Mediamatic internship lasts 100 (working) days. A different duration can be agreed on but is only available in exception. We offer a reasonable internship compensation of 250 euro per month (based on a 5-day working week) and limited commuting expenses where appropriate.

We offer a interesting work environment, with challenging and usefull projects. You will work in a small, non-hierarchical team. We are situated in the centre of Amsterdam.
