Manufacturing Babies and Public Consent
Debating the New Reproductive Technologies
This book is about the way the public debate on new technologies in the realm of reproduction has been held and influenced.
I am taking care of this book because the debate about the donation of sperm/eggs, surrogate motherhood, IVF and genetic screening is bound to kick up a row or two in the near future (not even counting the current debate about surrogacy in France, or about embryonal selection in the Netherlands). Advancing technology forces us to think about questions like 'who owns my body' and the ethics of interfering in life (or is it?) and death.
