Volunteers for Hacker Camp @ PICNIC 09

In the days immediately preceding this years' PICNIC, Mediamatic is setting up another heavy duty Hacker Camp. PICNIC is an outstanding high-profile conference at the intersection of media, technology, the arts and entertainment.
What?
The Hacker Camp will explore various recent technologies, interaction design and social processes. The emphasis will be on RFID. We aim to realize a bunch of engaging interactive installations and spaces, for the visitors of PICNIC to play with. The projects to be realized in this Camp will be (and/or) amazing, subversive, beautiful and unheard of!
For this camp we invited a team of developers, hackers and designers. People you definitely want to meet and work with if this is your area of interest! This year we also honored to have a team from MIT Medialab Boston.
For this Hacker Camp we need a lot of volunteers to assist with various tasks. This could be for instance helping the team with different chores, explaining the crowd how the freshly made (RFID) interactive installations work, runner during PICNIC and depending on your skills various other tasks.
When?
From 18 - 25 September 2009. Most volunteers are needed between 23 - 25 September and 26 September for post-production. Work hours may vary per day, but will probably be between 10.00 - 22.00.
We prefer availability for at least 2 days and a minimum of 8 hours per day.
Information and payment
We offer a financial compensation (€ 5 per hour). If you come from outside Amsterdam we can pay for your travel. (People that are close to Amsterdam are preferred because we can't pay long distance travel costs).
Also we take care of dinner if you work during the evening. Besides these basic needs you will be a part of a great experience and an extraordinary network.
