Prototype Dev Camp

Learn how to make social RFID projects in just 5 days!

Can you make innovative connections between the physical and the digital world, like for instance the iKWiN! or ikRun in just 5 days? Can you realize engaging interactive installations, wearables, spaces and places for people to play with? And do you want to participate in our Prototype Dev Camp for FREE?

Participating in a Prototype Dev Camp normally costs € 1250. For 30 students from Amsterdam schools, the Apollo program pays participation in Prototype Dev Camp. The Camp takes place in the spring break week from Tuesday February 22 - Saturday February 27. Apply now!

Please read the requirements carefully. If the rules do not apply to you, please don't register for the camp, that saves us a lot of time and hassle!

The camp is also open for other participants. (In that case participation costs € 1250).

Prototypers wanted

This offer applies only to students from eductional programs in Amsterdam / Almere (up to 23 years old) with an interest in technology, software and hardware developing, programming, interaction and product design. For instance Interaction Design, Articifial Intelligence, Robotica, Computer Science and Software Engineering. But if you are studying something else in Amsterdam and you are a hacker, please apply as well!

Okay, you're still here. That means you must fit the hacker description above. You now have a chance to get your participation paid for the Prototype Dev Camp. Follow these instructions to apply:

How to apply

  1. First click the pink 'RSVP' button on top of this page and then click 'make reservation'. If you already have a profile on Mediamatic.net, please add the requirements mentioned below. If you don't have a profile choose the 'register' option to create one according to the requirements.
  2. Prove us that your skills, effort and motivation are a necessity for the Hacker team. Include the following essential requirements to your profile:
  • Motivation: tell us why YOU should be in this Hacking Adventure for free. So, what can you offer the Hacker team?
  • Portfolio: show us what you can do. You can add experiences/work on your profile by adding a new contribution (choose article).

You can submit the requirements in English or Dutch. Notice that you can set the visibility permissions of your profile to "me", which means that only you and the Mediamatic staff can view your profile. For more information contact Deborah Meibergen at

Your application is will only be taken under consideration if you have clicked the RSVP button and created / updated your Mediamatic profile according to the requirements! This means also writing down your motivation, background information and (a link to) your portfolio.

The paid participation to Social RFID Hacking Adventure ’10 is financed by the Apollo program of the city of Amsterdam. The Apollo program is a program for Broad Talent development an Young Citizenship.
