Some years ago I spent the summer at a friends house in the Gascogne, close to the Pyrenee mountains. Allthough the house was on top of a hill, there was a big pond. Lots of frogs lived in it. One day I tried to imagine what it would be like to live in this pond. And that was what started this painting. It's a bit like looking up from down under water and see the waterlelies and flowers. -
