Anne Helmond is a New Media Lecturer at the University of Amsterdam at the Media Studies department. She graduated cum laude with a thesis on blogs and blog software titled 'Blogging for Engines. Blogs under the Influence of Software-Engine Relations.'
From 1999 - 2003 she attented the Utrecht School of Arts (HKU) where she received a Bachelor degree in Interaction Design and a Master degree in Interactive Multimedia.
She participates as a researcher in the Digital Methods Initiative (dmi.mediastudies.nl) at the University of Amsterdam in collaboration with GovCom.org.
She also work at the Institute of Network Cultures as an Interaction Designer and as a freelance photographer (including VPRO 3voor12 & Cut-Up).
