Joyce Treasure

she runs Treasure Films; a social enterprise that provides training to young people and members of the community so that they gain confidence and knowledge in film production. Our aim is to encourage communication through media art.

I have 18 years experience of working with mixed media, which includes metals, fine art, model making, props, photography + 1998 onwards = scriptwriting, editing, directing, DV film production, budgeting, and directing. 2008: explore multi media - combining content forms and looking at gps, geotagging, mashup google maps, flicker, youtube, blogs to open up new art opportunities, learning and educational strategies.

I have also worked in the theatre for 9 years before pursuing my career in film and writing. To date I have worked on promos and short films, one of which was funded by ABI and the BBC.

Work in the past has meant that I have experience of working with young people/adults for twelve years. My film work has lead me to work in schools, as a facilitator teaching filmmaking to primary and secondary school children, for the last four years. In that time I have benefited from working with a wide range of children with varying learning capabilities, and socially diverse backgrounds.

March 2207 I set up Treasure Films as a social enterprise to enable me, and experienced facilitators that I employ on a freelance basis, to work with young people and members of the community in making films.
