Tour of the Freezing Favela
Temporary settlement of artists, cooks and other makers
Freezing Favela was a temporary city at Mediamatic, Oostenburg Amsterdam. A group of designers, cooks and other makers are sharing our huge, leaking, unheated space in the Van Gendthallen. In the Freezing Favela you could make tosti's from scratch, bricks from old newspapers, furniture from cardboard, and cook with ingredients from the aquaponics farm. Favela-citizens gave workshops and organized events and meals.
