Directions - Janet Cardiff

Harnessing binaural sound technology

3 Aug 2005
30 Oct 2005

Janet Cardiff (1957) is a Canadian artist whose main focus is sound pieces, in installation and walk through forms. Her works create a different sense of space and reality that can only be escaped by ripping off her headphones or running out of her installations.
Her work has previously been featured in the MOMA and the Tate Modern opening exhibition, amongst other places.

For the directions program, Cardiff will develop a 20-minute multisensory audio walk artwork in which the artist’s layered sound effects merge to evoke a blending of history and memory.
