The biennial conference AIED will be held in Amsterdam this year. AIED displays current endeavors in development of advanced educational applications, and tries create an understanding of learning technology, which requires an advanced understanding of learners, learning and the context of learning. The conference hopes to be a platform that will bring the involved disciplines together, including AI, education, psychology, linguistics and learning sciences.

The interest fields of AIED include by are not limited to:
socially informed design, collaborative and group learning, learning systems platforms and architectures, modeling and representation, intelligent tutoring and scaffolding, interaction design and novel interfaces and special application fields. A bundle of the papers presented during AIED05 will be published by IOS Press.

The speakers for AIED include Daniel Schwartz (Interactivity and learning), Antonija Mitrovic (Constraint-based tutors: a success story), Justine Cassell (Learning with virtual Peers), en Ton de Jong (Scaffolding inquiry learning; How much intelligence is needed and by whom?).
