Michael develops user friendly interfaces to disclose different layers of complex, often narrative information. This of course appeals to the users' notion of spatiality. Michael has also made the 'evolving documentaries' Jerome B. Wiesner: A Random Walk Through the 20th Century and Boston: Renewed Vistas among others.

Michael Murtaugh studied Computer Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was a member of the Interactive Cinema Group and co-founded the company Jam! New Media for public dialogue.
