Ciarán Maher plays James Tenney

DNK Amsterdam and Ciarán Maher, in association with STEIM, present an evening of music for player piano by the late James Tenney.

This evening includes the world premiere of Spectral Variations Nos. 1 to 3. (2006), realised for Disklavier by Maher, a friend and former assistant of Tenney. Also included is the extended version of Tenney`s Spectral CANON for CONLON Nancarrow (Extended by Clarence Barlow in 1990). The first version of this piece was cut for player piano by Conlon Nancarrow himself.
The evening includes a spoken introduction and discussion between Ciarán Maher and Clarence Barlow.
