The Incredible Shrinking Man -

A conversation with artist Arne Hendriks and design archeologist Michael Shanks (Professor at Hasso PLattner Institute of Design, Stanford University) about the tradition of being smaller. Why should this notion prevail over the human desire to improve, increase and enlarge?

Design Column #5 'Body Building’ reflects on our changing body. The limitation to growth, given by the economic downfall, could change our perspective to understanding heath. Through films, products and prototypes designers including Arne Hendriks, Elena Beelaerts, Tuur van Balen and Revital Cohen explore new approaches in caring for our body.

Design Column #5 'Body Building’ investigates where the desires and boundaries are.
