Floryan Varennes is a visual artist and researcher based in France. His work on sculptures and installations are formed at the intersection between fascination and repulsion.
In his methods of representation, Floryan Varennes highlights the reality that violence and “taking care” are two sides of the same coin. His research exists between two concepts. Between revisited medievalism and retrofuturist style, disinhibited sexuality and sacredness, with Floryan Varennes we see a Queer Fantasy emerge. This evokes a suspended temporality in which the place of violence and love, and the way these two terms meet inside the body and on its surface, are in constant negotiation.
