During the workshop Sculpting Textile, artist Margherita Soldati will introduce participants to manipulating different types of fabric and ways to create shapes, textures and patterns. They will experiment with various materials and try out different methods, from the most traditional to the most absurd.
As a workshop assistant, your role is to prepare the materials and the space, communicate with Margherita about materials, and be there. Don't hesitate to print this assistant checklist and have it with you on the day of workshop!
Here is some information about ticketing when you are a workshop assistant.
Email workshop@mediamatic.nl about missing materials. The workshop team will forward the information to Margherita.
On the Friday before the workshop
Get handouts for the participants. If you need to print out more, use paperclips to attach.
Set up tables and chairs, each participant should be able to sit and have a working space on the table (if there aren’t enough tables, you can check the Panorama studio).
Set up and clean white board.
Set up TV screen for presentation (Google Drive link for presentation: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1A-pNPGBpdhCM_LPxudxvpIM1tV-BV7OW ), and connect to laptop #7.

c. The correct cables should be hanging from behind the TV: HDMI/HDMI cable & HDMI/mini displayport adapter. (If not behind the TV, they can be found from the storage space behind the sliding glass doors next to the Office). d. Connect the HDMI cable to HDMI port 4 behind the TV. Enlarge
Take a photo of the workshop. This can be, for example, an overview photo, a photo of the product, or a photo of the participants. When taking photos of participants, remember to ask for permission.
Timeline of the workshop
3 days before
Check the Sculpting Textiles storage box in the Clean Lab, and let Margherita know via email what is already in the box, so that she can bring the rest of the materials.
On the Friday before
Print handouts, set up space, set up TV screen, bring in all the materials that we provide
