workshop:

Psychosoma - Guided Conversation

with Eve Merriel Hurst

16 أيار / مايو 2025

Psychosoma is a sensory fountain creating a space for vital conversations around holistic healing and psychosomatic health: conditions that affect both the body and mind. Western healthcare is largely based on the belief that the two are distinct, unrelated entities, leaving many patients sidelined and alone.

The womb-like interior centres on mugwort, a medicinal plant used by herbalists for holistic healing and enhancing intuition. Cleansing hands in the fountain's flow of water and aromatic mugwort is grounding and calming.

Come and join Eve for a guided conversation!

What will you do

This guided conversation takes place in the immersive Psychosoma fountain, a meditative space for hosting conversations around mind-body healing. Whether you have experiences with mind-body health conditions or simply desire a meditative moment to tune into yourself, you are welcome to join! Conversations will be held in small groups of five participants per session, each taking place in a dedicated timeslot throughout the evening.

Meeting others and sharing sensory experiences in the cocoon facilitates reflection and open discussion, building a supportive community over time. As participants learn that their experiences are shared by others, the internalised taboo inherent in many psychosomatic conditions begins to melt away.

Eve Merriel Hurst

Eve Merriel Hurst is a British artist-designer specialising in multi-sensory experiences and immersive spatial storytelling. Graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2024, she finds wonder in creating worlds that investigate the taboo and facilitate open dialogues around identity.

Eve’s interactive spatial installations seek to reframe private, even vulnerable human experiences as opportunities for shared understanding. Entering these sensory worlds, visitors are invited to imagine realities where ancestral, herbal and esoteric knowledge can aid in forging deeper connections with the self, with others and with the soil we grow from.
