Micha Klein

Artist

Micha Klein (born 1964) is a Dutch artist that specialises in digital art. 

Klein studied at the Gerrit Rietvelt Academy for Fine Arts, graduating in 1989 as the first artist to receive a BA in Computer-graphics. His work is characterised by its bright colours and unique references to art history and pop culture. 

Since then, his work has been exhibited internationally in several museums such as the LACMA Los Angeles, Denver Art Museum, Arken Museum Denmark, Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, Groninger Museum, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Historical Museum. He has also collaborated with the rapper Eminem, the watch company Swatch and Coca Cola and has created his own software company named 'Metadreams' in 2001. 

Klein is also part of the VJ movement since 1988, winning the LSDA "Best VJ Award" for 2 years  in a row - and the Gouden Kabouter "Best VJ" for 3 years in a row. During AVIT UK in 2003, Klein was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the international VJ scene.
