Make Pretty Nice Stuff

Sew the tallest T-shirt tent you ever saw

3 Mar 2013

The pretty nice boys will provide workshops for people: young and old, hairy and hairless, short and not-so-short. Together they play with printing and painting techniques such as silk-screening, woodblock printing, finger-paint and stencils. First mission: to make a space for their creative shenanigans - a 9-meter-tall t-shirt space...

The guys from Pretty Nice Stuff need your help to sew a 9-meter-tall T-shirt to act as their creative homebase. In between sewing away for a massive team effort, there will be plenty of playing around and rolling on the floor. It's already nice enough if you come and lend a hand, but it would also be pretty nice if you bring along your extra white fabric.

Participating is fun because you'll learn loads of new stuff. And because we like seeing you around we'll make you an honorary Mediamatic member for 4 weeks. This means free entrance to the Fabriek and massive discounts on our events.

Freezing Favela

Freezing Favela is a small city within Mediamatic Fabriek. Builders, cooks and other makers have been given the possibility to claim a part of the big industrial hall as their own. They work on their projects autonomously, but like in any other community, materials, space and functions have to be shared. Favela citizens are making tosti's from scratch, paper from cow shit, furniture from cardboard, and food from our very own aquaponics farm. And everyone is welcome to contribute. Build this city with us. We' re open every Wednesday and Sunday.
