Slava Mogutin is a Russian-American artist and writer based in New York after he was banished from Russia because of his outspoken writings and activism.

Mogutin was forced to leave Russia in 1995 and was granted political asylum in the United States.

When he arrived in New York Mogutin decided to start using the nickname Slava which means "glory" or "fame" in Russian.

Mogutin's photography and multimedia work have been exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world.
