The Avantgardeners & Livia Rita, are looking for dancers to be part of Dystopia Wetlands, an immersive multi-sensory exhibition, exploring ecological futures and hybrid bodies, opening 1 May 2026.
The audition for this project will be held at Mediamatic on 14 April 2026 from 15:30-17:30.
With the work, we explore creature identities through outfit/texture-led movement, and focus on working with non-binary, genderfluid, queer and female dancers.
*please note: performers must be age 18 or older to be considered for this open call
The aim would be a long-term collaboration with our fluid ‘Gang of Witches’. It’s ambitious work, with lots of collaborative moments, and potential touring opportunities for music venues and beyond. Ideally, you would be a good team player, motivated and up for challenges beyond dance spaces, with an openness to go the extra mile - which multidisciplinary work sometimes makes one do (for example: challenges of set, handling multiple outfits, working with a band, helping each other out, and potential workshops).
In case this work talks to you and interests you (it’s the base for long-term collaboration), but you can’t do the first show / rehearsal date, you can still submit your info and specify your availability below. We try to work locally when we tour, so a later collaboration is always a possibility.
Who can apply?
- This open call is open to dancers, performers and movement artists who either live or can travel to Amsterdam, NL
- Anyone interested in collaboration, spontaneity and creature building
- All abilities and body types welcome
- Preference for non-binary, genderfluid, queer and female performers
- Anyone age 18 or older
