PAUSE & EJECT

A show by Goldsmiths MFA students

8 May 2009
10 May 2009

PAUSE AND EJECT highlights the interim status of the first year MFA Art Practice students at Goldsmiths. Currently in the middle of their two-year programme, the artists will only have internal showings until their graduate exhibition in Spring 2010. The collective desire to publicly expose their work before the end of the course has resulted in the organization of their premiere exhibition together, one that focuses on their present moment of in-betweeness. Featuring thirty-two international students, this show will embrace these artistic differences while simultaneously exposing the commoradory between these artists who are studying and producing work in the same environment. PAUSE AND EJECT will act as a defintive marker in the development of these artists

Because PAUSE AND EJECT is inclusive of all the art students in the part-one MFA programme at Goldsmiths, the show is not founded on a thematic concept. Instead this exhibition looks to the diversity of mediums being produced: installation, film, video, painting, drawing, and sculpture are all represented in PAUSE AND EJECT. Additionally, there are a series of performative events and discussions that will occur throughout the day on Sunday (May 10) with select performances during the private view.
