Danielle Nierenberg is a Research Associate at the Worldwatch Institute and Project Director of 'State of the World 2006'. Her research has taken her to Asia, Africa and Latin America and her work has been published in 'Worldwatch' magazine and the Institute's 'State of the World' and 'Vital Signs'. In her lecture, Niernberg concentrates on the fact, that it's essential to identify how precisely ecological and health problems are related to the current system of transnational production through factory farms. This understanding of the way in which current system produces these side effects can help transform meat production around the globe without jeopardizing its human benefits.
