KINEMATIX RECORDS -

My name is LUCIA.
In Latin it means Lighting or more precisely - Raying.
In my native “Moldovan” the verb “a luci” can be translated as “enlighten” or “to give a light”.
In russian people call me “ЛУЧ” – The Ray.

I make music records cut on X-Ray images of my body, which can be played on a turntable or displayed as an art object. This technique references the Samizdat bootlegging methods typical in the Soviet bloc. Each record emphasizes a particular issue: for example, an original “hip hoperetta” based on personal experience of being harassed on the streets in Moldova, or a musical with a socio-political content, aimed to critically reflect on actual subjects by exploiting social, political and cultural issues in a particular geographic region.
***
My co-worker and collaborator is D.RIBA - great musician, composer and ghuitar player.

Together we form STUDIO KINEMATIX.

***
STUDIO KINEMATIX conducts investigations into the use of musical structures in visual imagery, which turn into musical performances, installations, objects, comic strips and videos.
The concept focuses on creating interactive situations in order to experiment with the emotional and physical involvement of the artist in her work.

Since 2004 more than 10 records have been produced.

STUDIO KINEMATIX also involves musical production and musical performance.
