Christian Friedrich, untitled (2011) -

Christian Friedrich’s films and sculptures (often in combination) relate to heavy themes such as sexuality and violence, through which he quotes and assembles existing footage and staged situations. Underlying this method is an investigation into the workings of perception, as a fiction that is created out of “incoming” images and the mental process of making associative connections.
