Flipsides Part 1

Considering how our lives are largely driven by notions of worth and purpose, Ivanova is concentrating on things which have been rendered marginal and useless. She is making lists of everything that appears to no longer fulfill its function, and aims to figure out a way to make the discarded somehow significant again. In a series of short public presentations she will introduce select items from her lists and attempts to put them to some good use.

Zhana Ivanova (Russe, Bulgaria) produces works in the field of performance and time-based arts. Since January 2012 Ivanova is a resident at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam. Check out her profile here.
