Born in Tijuana, Mexico, Fernando Corona has been working under the Murcof alias for the last twelve years. Developing a distinctive intricacy and depth in his production, his signature is a palpable crossover between the electronic and the classical. Murcof experiments with acoustic warmth and digital precision, incorporating subtle electronic minimalism with a musical language reminiscent of modern classical composers such as Arvo Pärt and Morton Feldman. In his collaborative work with AntiVJ he has explored immersive visual performance to re-interpret his sonic narratives.
For Murcof, his residency at 4DSOUND is an invitation to explore new personal ways of structure and narrative in his music, by means of space.
A Q&A with the artist will take place after the performance.
Lighting and visuals by Daniel Besnyo, Dennis Michael Khieffer Beviz, Istvan Hollos and Ferenc Varga.
