A blissful week has come to an end. On Sunday July 6th the sugarlandscape by Pip&Pop will reach is final stage. To celebrate this moment, we invite you to the festive opening and finnisage. In which Pip&Pop, together with the audience ritually takes the landscape apart. Let's come together for some sweet drinks and cleanse the Mediamatic Fabriek from all the sugar madness.

Get high on Serotonin

For Lightness week 10, Cynthia Hathaway invited the Australian Pip&Pop to work their sugar magic. Sugar increases the amount of serotonin in our brains. Serotonin is better known as the happy hormone. So shouldn’t we indulge in sugar more?! Dive into it, be seduced and float into its sugary high.


Sennelier is a historical company based in France from the end of the 19th Century, with customers such as Cezanne, Gauguin and Picasso. And sponsor of the color pigments of Candylab.


This project is part of Lightness. In an age where everyone is affected by the weight of society, the overbearing fears of the economy and the heavy hand of government, 'lightness' is the way forward. Let go of the material and celebrate the ethereal with 11 weeks of 'lightness'. Each week Mediamatic invites a new artist to question the meaning of 'lightness'.
